I desired a change and this is it:

My new blog. Yesh. We thought it would never happen, but it did. I'm turning a new leaf (I hope) and I don't want the things that people could read here representing me. Old things. Like...well...you know the things. At any rate, it seems inappropriate to have a blog entitled "overanalyzed: dissecting the aspects of my life piece by peace" when I no longer dissect it online. You'll notice, if you go to my profile, that "In Pursuit" is now the only blog listed. You can still view all my blogs, they are just no longer listed. It is rather unnecessary to have three blogs.

Note: In Pursuit will not be made a prostitute to money-making campaigns such as AdSense or BlogAds or PayPerPost.

Daily photo continues.
Nicknames stop (too tedious).
Baring my soul stops (already has stopped, really).
Good writing continues.
Along with the good writing will, hopefully, be more interesting posts in which I develop not only the quality but also the content of my writing.

Still. Yes.

I went to my ortho appointment today like I was supposed to. On my way, I got a call that started out like this:

"Tiffany? Hi, it's *insert name* from *insert Dr's office name* Are you on your way here yet?"

"Yes." [Here I'm thinking that they called me to remind me because I'm generally at least 5 minutes late to my appointments.]

"Well, we still want you to come...but..." [Here is where I though: oh dangit!]

"Oh, dangit!" was right; I didn't get my braces off today like I thought I would. Instead, I got to do another impression, which I seriously hate. I really didn't mind the brackets, the pain, the stupid archwires poking stupid holes into my mouth. But I really mind the impressions. They make me gag every time.

I was bummed and slightly ticked off. But then, I was like: Well, heck, it's not their fault--it really wasn't. Then, nearly every single person looked at me like my dog died and kept apologizing. That made me annoyed and got me slightly bummed again.

But it's no big deal, really, to have another few weeks of braces. I think I will survive.

A friend, whose name, incidentally, is Rice, introduced me to this website last night while we were watching the game.

The game that KANSAS won and not MEMPHIS. I declared my loyalty (at least for that game) to the Jayhawks last night, whoo! Spartacus was, of course, rooting for the team that's from the other side of Tennessee. He lost. I won. I'm rubbing it in some more because I'm an awful person.

Anyway, so, while the game is on, I annoy Spartacus by constantly leaning over him to watch Rice play this game on freerice.com. What is it? It's a website that asks you vocabulary questions. For every one you get right, they will donate 20 grains of rice to the UN World Food Program. Pretty cool.

I love vocabulary. I love rice. This is rather exciting.

So Tragic presents: ROKU

The SoTragic collective invites you to a party next Saturday, April the 5th. The event will take place at Todd, inc. hair studio, located at 1 Wade Hampton Boulevard (on the corner of Wade Hampton and Stone Ave, across from The Handlebar). SoTragic will be opening their product line with a limited number screened T-shirt, along with the opening of new paintings by collective member L.B. Hayes. Music will be provided by Kutter (hip hop set), collective member Miky Tragic (throw back drum and bass) and out of Charlotte NC. Sapien Vs. Platinum (10th Street knights)(electro clash sets). Party begins around 7:30 PM. Parking below Todd's along Wade Hampton. As always SoTragic, Mashing music, art, lifestyle, and product. We'll make people like you.

About a week ago, this invite for another SoTragic event appeared in my inbox and I could hardly wait for it because I knew what to expect: free vodka, PopTarts galore, dancing, and some of the hippest people in Greenville. Just like last time. And I was right.

The nice thing about these events is that they are so different from what Greenville usually has to offer. There was, shall we say, a "big city feel" to Saturday night's party. It was held at the local and highly praised hair studio: Todd Inc. I've never been there but from what I read, clients get to relax with a beer or a glass of wine while they get their hair done. I think I could live with that.

ROKU served to announce the opening of the SoTragic t-shirt line. T-shirts which were rather affordable at only ten bucks (yes, $10) a pop. Unfortunately, SoTragic ran into issues with the XY shirts and there were only t's for gals available (American Apparel, the only way to go). Good. More for me and I got two: one for me and one for Stargirl. While there was the lamentable option of only one t-shirt design, the guests must have liked 'em well enough. In my two-and-a-half hours there, the full rack downsized to a mere two shirts left. I'm sporting mine as we speak.

In addition to the t-shirts, the event was also the opening for new paintings by the talented L. B. Hayes whose artwork adorned the various rooms:

I danced less and socialized more at this event. I partook of my free cocktail. We pretended to be glamorous and took photos at the entrance.

Me, Spartacus, and one of our friends right before we watched I Am Legend. Yes, I watched a zombie movie. I actually liked it. It's the things jumping out to startle the audience that really gets me. Spartacus fancies that I've got a pretty strong hands. I think his exact words were: "Ow, woman!" Or something like that.

Above ring is just costume jewelry. I think my mom gave it to me ages ago. I have used it to steer guys clear or to play tricks on friends before. But it's too big, so I don't hardly wear it.

Deep breaths...

I woke up this morning and pressed down the big button on my alarm clock, effectively halting the blaring awful noise it likes to make. I noticed that it was just a little after 7AM which lead me to the conclusion that I must have hit that big beautiful noise stopping button at least twice already. As if I could remember that.

I stretched, snuggled into my comfy pillows, and considered going for a walk/run/jog of sorts. It was sure to be wet outside, but probably not raining. More random thoughts...blah...blah...insert early morning happy day dreams hear. Now insert screeching halt. Oh $#^%!!! It's past seven and I have to WORK today!

So, as you can surmise, my day got off to a grrrreat start.

What's more? It's nasty outside. Weather.com is predicting thunder storms all afternoon. So much for playing outside.

Baby #3 is sick and whiny. And out of baby food. I was creative for lunch.
Baby #2 is, well, definitely being three years old today. 'Nuf said.
Baby #1 is sick with some kind of awful sore throat. For whatever reason, this makes him want to scream despite my telling him that screaming is going to make it worse. Two minutes after I put him down for his nap he started screaming. I gave him medicine and water. I tried to tell him why he shouldn't scream. I told him he could have a cough drop if he stopped screaming. So he did. But he was well on his way to hyperventilation and that makes him scream. Loud enough to wake up the baby? Why yes, in fact. By some divine intervention, the baby went back to sleep on his own. So, I rocked and held and tried my best to comfort and sooth the poor crying sick little boy who just wanted his mommy.

Now everyone is back in their beds or cribs. And I'm wondering if I ever really will be a writer for anything other than a blog. I love kids, I think ya'll know. But between taking care of someone else's kids and taking care of my own kids, I'd like to write. Just for at least a little while? I do hope so.

So, I check on Facebook this morning only to notice that Spartacus has changed his status to say that he is "excited about moving to Denmark Technical University for his PhD."

He's WHAT???? What about the awesome job he just accepted here in MY TOWN? What about his new apartment?

I attack my phone and ring him. "Hey, Tink!" He says all good-naturedly like there is nothing new and ask if I heard about Nachtkriec. I think: Nachtkriec? What about you?

He tells me about how his roommate is moving to Uzbekistan for some ministry seminary thing or something. I make a few comments before interrupting him.

"What about you?" I ask.

"What about me? Oh, you mean Denmark?"

"Uh...yeah!"

"We've talked about that before."

"I know...but... " (But Denmark is really cool and all but it is also far away (from me) and this summer is fast approaching. And you said you didn't want to pursue your PhD.)

"It just happened this morning. I got an amazing offer that I just can't refuse."

"When are you moving?

"This summer."

So...here I am lying on my couch. My head hurts. I'm shocked and surprised. I'm a little hurt. I'm sort of confused. I wonder if he can hear the droop in my voice. I wonder, well, a lot of things.

"Tink, what day is it?"

What day is it? How could he drop a topic like this so quickly? Isn't there things to be discussed? I wander over to my calendar.

"It's March...no, wait. It's April fff--you suck."

I'd like to find my niche in the blogosphere. Granted my blog really has progressed since I made my first post. I have Not Really An Artist, but I don't think I do enough photography or creative writing to have it as my main steady blog. I couldn't do a daily photo blog. Doing it for one year will be more than enough for me. Remembering to take a creative photo everyday can be tedious and sometimes discourages creativity. Sometimes it fosters creativity, though, and I end up taking really neat picture that I never would have gotten otherwise.

Right now, I write mostly about the many silly things in my life. Let's face it: I'm not Dooce or anything. I cannot write about what I had for lunch and have hundreds of people go zOMG! That is SOOOO freaking AWESOME!!!

But, in case you are curious, I had hot dogs for lunch. See? That is not SOOOO freaking AWESOME. And really, that is okay. ^_^

Against my better judgment, I went to Plato's Closet on Tuesday. I shouldn't go shopping but, in the end, I'm glad I did. I got the pieces for my makeshift pirate outfit for ATLX5 and a really cute dress for a black-and-white cocktail party that Spartacus and I are attending on Saturday night. ^_^ Paired with black sling backs and my pearls, it is so super cute. I'd post a picture of me in it, but that isn't nearly as artsy, now is it? Anyway, Spartacus hasn't seen the dress yet and I'm hoping to knock his socks off.

This was taken on my way home from the dance last night. Yes, I'm well aware that it isn't the safest thing to be taking pictures while driving. But it is also not safe to fall asleep and this kept me awake.

How was dancing? Fantastic except I felt pretty dang awkward for a decent amount of the evening. I didn't let it bother me and had fun despite my crazy left feet. I showed off my new fancy Charleston steps to one of the best dancers I know. He likes my style and says I do it well. Huzzah. I really really like solo Charleston. It's all in the ankle flaps, they make the basic step look cool. What is solo charleston? Look at this video from ULHS '06.

Happy Easter! It was a fun Easter, indeed. I went to church in the morning with Spartacus and we had dinner at a friend's house that afternoon. It was a fantastic atmosphere with good food, Yuengling, and fellowshipping. ^_^ I made those apple dumplings again. When I got home late that night, there were flowers and chocolate at my door! The "Easter Bunny" (a.k.a Daddy) left me a pretty pink and white Easter bouquet. Pink roses, white daisies, and a pink gerbera daisy. How very pretty. I heart daisies!

80/366 (Monday, March 24th)

I hung out at my parents' house today. I did some laundry, made dinner for my dad and I, and we watched K-PAX (very enjoyable!) Yesterday, Daddy won this chocolate bunny. At the Easter dinner he went to, there was a competition as to who could decorate an egg the coolest. Well, of course, my dad won. (He drew a duck saying "Quack!" and a sailor on a boat saying "Move it, duck!" Random, I know.) He didn't want the bunny, so I got it today. Ears and all. It's freaking solid. I have no idea what I'll do with it. Maybe I'll melt it down and make brownies. Ha-ha. ^_^

So, I took this photo barely in time, I think. I don't really remember. I was sitting at my computer desk after small group (which was fantastic) and finishing up my astronomy project. Crap, I need a photo, I thought. So, I grabbed the camera and took a picture of what is right behind my laptop: my french memo board filled with photos. :)

What's this? Oh, it's me editing Spartacus's thesis. What am I wearing? Oh! Shorts! Yay! Because it was SO beautiful outside on Saturday! :) I went to O-Cha later that afternoon to continue working. I saw the GuitarFiend, a musician friend of mine, who inquired as to what the thesis was about.

Me: "Oh, it's about micro cantilever sensor systems."
::pause::
Him: "Wow. I think I just learned how to sleep with my eyes open!"

Ha-ha. It wasn't actually that boring. I mean, I don't really know how much I learned because a lot of it went in for processing and back out without a stamp on my memory at all. I did learn this, however: Spartacus never learned how to use commas.

I'm sure that you can tell just by looking at the quality of this photo that it was taken by my beloved FinePix E900. ^_^ Look closely at my teeth. What do you see??? A LACK OF BRACES on the top row. Huzzah! Yes!!! Okay, well, there are two brackets that are holding up that wire, but, other than that and six on the bottom, by teeth are braces-free. Only three weeks left until they are ALL GONE.

So, I have never made brownies before. But, I wanted to make brownies for Spartacus. I tried a new recipe that looked different but had good reviews. I decided to spring for the fancy chocolate. Well, the brownies turned out to be DISGUSTING. I still want to try again. Maybe I did something wrong.

Spent the day up at Camp Old Indian for Spring Fellowship. It was sooooo much fun. We did a little dance practice, did a little ceremonies, had a little spirit (Oconostota's theme was Braveheart!) and played a LOT of 1000 Blank White Cards. This photo was taking in the Trading Post, my old store. I don't know where it used to be, but it should probably be back there. Scouts can be AWFUL at aiding erosion i.e. going off the trail.

So, yeah, this picture was actually taken last Tuesday, but I didn't have a photo for today. This is a decent enough photo, and so I used it. In case you cannot tell, these are my parents' chickens. Yes, they have chickens. Me? I don't even have so much as a potted plant.

Spartacus came over this afternoon. We hung out, went to Total Wine, went grocery shopping, and made a very cool dinner. Cheeses, hummus, bread, wine, etc. Oh, and, of course, bacon-wrapped-chicken. Spartacus made those and was quite (appropriately) proud of his creations. They were so yummy!

70/366 (Friday, March 14th)

C'est moi et la fille de mon ami. We're watching Beauty and the Beast. My all-time favorite Disney movie. Spartacus likes Beauty and the Beast as well because he likes Gaston. He told me about some article written in defense of Gaston (most likely by a delusional male) but I have yet to find it. If anyone does, send it my way. I would love a good laugh. ^_^
